BIG CATS OF INDIA

India has been known to the world as a country in which, huge population of humans and very rich forest cover could be seen in perfect HARMONY. But it is extremely sad that in last 20 years, tiger population in India has been decimated and that too, by handful of poachers who could not be contained by a big team of forest officials and the whole government sponsored machinery for this task. Now, It is official that we are left with very few tigers who still are at the mercy of poachers. Government of India seems to have learnt no lessons so far and is still making it a political issue. If best possible steps are not taken, tigers, including those in captivity shall not last even 10 years. Then we shall tell our next generation that once upon a time, we had world's half number of tigers.
